About Ace Electrics

We’re Here To Make Electrical Work Easier To Get Right.

Ace Electrics is a locally owned electrical company serving homes and businesses across Palmerston North and the Manawatū.

Chris and Steph McPhee · Ace Electrics

From everyday electrical repairs through to renovations, commercial projects, heat pumps and solar, we've built our team around one simple idea:

Give people confidence in every electrical decision they make.

That means more than simply completing the electrical work.

It means understanding what someone is trying to achieve, helping them make sense of the options and having the capability to look after the work properly.

A Local Electrical Company That's Grown With Its Customers

Ace has grown into a team covering a wide range of electrical work.

That breadth hasn't come from trying to be everything to everyone.

It's developed as the electrical needs of our customers have changed.

A customer who first calls us about a faulty power point might later renovate their kitchen, install a heat pump, upgrade their switchboard or look at solar.

A business might start with a repair and eventually need ongoing maintenance, alterations or a much larger project.

Having that capability within one team means the relationship doesn't necessarily have to start again every time the electrical requirement changes.

Today, that includes:

  • Residential electrical
  • Commercial electrical
  • Servicing and maintenance
  • New builds and renovations
  • Heat pumps and air conditioning
  • Solar
  • EV charging
  • Ventilation
  • Data and communications
  • CCTV and security
  • Appliance servicing and repairs

Our Purpose

Confidence In Every Electrical Decision.

Most customers aren't electricians. They shouldn't need to be.

Our role isn't simply to install what we're asked for. It's to understand what you're trying to achieve, explain the options clearly and help you make an informed decision.

Sometimes that means recommending an upgrade.

Sometimes it means finding a more practical solution.

And sometimes it means telling you that what you've already got is perfectly adequate.

The right outcome matters more than selling the biggest job.

What Matters To Us

Trust. Attitude. Reputation.

These are the three values we've built Ace around.

01

Trust

Honest advice and clear communication.

02

Attitude

Respect, professionalism and pride in the way we approach the customer, the property, the work and each other.

03

Reputation

Quality workmanship and an experience that earns your recommendation.

They're deliberately simple.

As Ace has grown, they've given us something to come back to when we think about the type of company we want to be and the expectations we have of our team.

Building Better Electricians

The Future Of Our Trade Matters.

Training apprentices has always been an important part of Ace.

We believe becoming a good electrician requires more than learning how to wire something.

It means learning how to think through a problem, communicate with customers, take pride in workmanship and understand the responsibility that comes with the trade.

Our apprentices work alongside experienced electricians as they develop those skills.

The goal isn't simply to get people qualified.

It's to develop tradespeople we'd be proud to have representing Ace for years to come.

The Ace Standard

Growing Without Losing What Matters

As the company has grown, one of the challenges has been making sure the expectations we started with don't disappear simply because there are more people wearing an Ace shirt.

That's part of the reason we've become much more deliberate about what we expect from ourselves.

We call it The Ace Standard.

It covers everything from the advice we give and how we communicate through to who we send, how we treat a property, the quality of the workmanship and what happens after the job is finished.

Part of the Manawatū

Locally Owned. Locally Accountable.

Ace Electrics is based in the Manawatū.

Our customers live here. Our team lives here. The builders, businesses, property managers, suppliers and other trades we work alongside are part of the same community.

That makes reputation important.

We're not interested in being the electrical company someone uses once.

We want to be the company they call again — and the one they're comfortable recommending to somebody else.

Where We're Going

To Be The Most Recommended Electrical Company In The Manawatū.

That's our vision.

Not necessarily the biggest.

Not the cheapest.

The most recommended.

Because recommendation has to be earned.

It comes from thousands of individual experiences with customers, teammates and the wider community.

That's the company we're continuing to build.

The people behind the work

Meet The People Behind Ace

A company is ultimately the people who represent it.

From the team answering the phone and organising the work through to the electricians and apprentices arriving on site, everyone has a part to play.

Meet the people behind Ace Electrics.
